Peas with Prosciutto

Serves 4 to 6

2 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons finely chopped onion

2 slices bacon or prosciutto, cut into 1 inch strips

1 clove garlic, pressed

1/4 cup Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay

2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen peas, or 1.5 pounds fresh, shelled peas

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Melt Butter in skillet and add onions and bacon or prosciutto. Cook, stirring frequently, until onions are soft, not brown. Add garlic, then wine. Add pease and let simmer 15 minutes over low heat until peas are tender. Salt and pepper to taste before serving. Pair with Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay or Barbera.
