Richard Cuneo
Mr. Richard Cuneo, Sebastiani’s Chairman of the Board, has a fondness for sparkling wine. Therefore, he headed up the revival of the Richard Cuneo Sparkling Wine Project. We worked with a winery in France, as well as an importing company to bring this lovely diversion from our still wine offerings. This wine is sold only out of our tasting room and to our wine club members. We hope you enjoy Richard’s bubbly!

Vineyards:

Sparkling wine is often made from in cool climate vineyards, ideal for growing grapes with high acidity and bright fruit characteristics. We sourced grapes from vineyards along the California coast, where cooling ocean breezes and maritime fog are common, creating the perfect environment for sparkling wine grapes. Only white varietals were used in this non-vintage blend, preserving the apple, lemon and tropical fruit notes of premium sparkling wine grapes.

Pale straw yellow in color, this sparkler tickles the tongue with generous bubbles and green apple-like acidity. Aromas of peach, Golden Delicious apple, almonds and Meyer lemon are echoed in the palate, where the bubbles accentuate the crisp fruit notes and elongate the smooth finish. Although you may be tempted to only serve this wine with appetizers or accompanying a toast, it pairs beautifully with seafood, chicken, spicy Thai and Indian dishes, and cream-based soups and sauces.
